Qarls Texture Pack III OMOD - QTP3 at Oblivion Nexus.
Check out Connary's texture packs, they have a leap in quality when compare to Morrowind with no mods that is similar to going from vanilla Oblivion to Qarl's Texture Pack 3. (Heck, some of his.
Installing Qarl's texture pack it as simple as right clicking on the archive in the WB installers tab and clicking on install. May want to grab the UOP compatibility patch if you are using the UOP. Qarl's is not that different from vanilla, so I had to compare some screenshots first time I installed it to make sure I had done it correctly.
Refresh Qarls texture pack after renaming that file, and anneal, and after that diversion back to investigating the ANCastleCourtCircle01.nif texture. Uninstalling Qarls UoP compatibility patch doesn't result in the tear, nor does messing around with that ANCastleCourtCircle01 inside the patch file result in anything for me either.
However if you are just starting off and want a good experience again while sticking closer to vanilla there is a mod called OCO (Oblivion Character Overhaul) which drastically changes faces of many (if not all) people in Tamriel, there are UI fixes such as Darnified UI, and beautificaton mods such as All natural, Qarl's texture packs, and unique landscapes.
Skyrim really doesn't have much better graphics than Oblivion; it just has WAY higher resolution textures and more care put into designing each texture. Qarl's brings Oblivion surprisingly closer to Skyrim's standard. After that, there are tons of mods for more details like Illumination Within, Better Bell Sounds, Fading Torches, etc.
I'm coming from just completing a lightly modded skyrim playthrough. I was wondering if this game is worth picking up. I know there is a renewal project in the works. How is the modding community for this game? Any answers would be helpful. Thanks Edit: Ill pick it up when it goes on sale.
I was wondering if anyone could post some screens of Oblivion running with mods such as OAVO and other graphical inhancements, so I could compare them to console versions to see if there is a huge.
